Hidden Montenegro by E-Bike, via The Kotor Cable Car to 1300M

3.Hidden Montenegro by E-Bike, via The Kotor Cable Car to 1300M

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 9 reviews · 4 hours (approx.) · from $179

You’ll take Kotor’s cable car to 1300 meters, learn to use a Cube e-bike, then ride with a guide through mountain roads to Majstori and Fortress Gorazda. Guides such as Armando, Rodrigo, Molly, and Jeffrey have led the route. Expect striking views, off-road riding, and a small group capped at six.

“It should be mentioned these are top of the food chain bikes that you would not normally expect to find on a tour like this; pedaling uphill is like defying gravity and the quality of the suspension meant that the worse the road was, the more fun we had. Even if you’re a traditional bike rider, such e-bikes are a blast. About the tour, the Porto Montenegro village was like coming upon an oasis, with ice cream, but the Austrian fortress was the most interesting site (I don’t think it’s in the itinerary, but they offer it as an option) and though it takes a bit more time to get…”

Express Cable Car ascent & 25Turns Epic Bike Descent.

4.Express Cable Car ascent & 25Turns Epic Bike Descent.

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 9 reviews · 3 hours (approx.) · from $143

From Kotor, you’ll ride a cable car 1,300 meters up to Lovcen National Park, get fitted with a Giant or Cube bike, then coast back down a quiet mountain road through 25 turns. Guide Rafi has been praised for careful traffic checks and steady support. The ride takes about 90 to 120 minutes.

“The instructions about meeting up were not clear so we never managed to go on the tour. The cable car base is 4km from the cruise port so not walkable as suggested in the instructions and it was difficult to get a taxi (one quoted us €40 each way!). When we finally spoke to the company they admitted there had been a mixup and were keen to help (and offered to pay for the taxi) but there was not enough time to be comfortably back for our ship leaving time. We were very disappointed but have to say we received a no quibble full refund so all was not lost.”

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 7 reviews · 3 to 4 hours (approx.) · from $126

Set out from Kotor with guide Ivana and ride mostly downhill from Njeguši along the famous Kotor switchbacks. Visit Njegoš’s birthplace, see traditional ham-making, pause at Horizont Bar, and stop for photos. The private tour lasts about 3 to 4 hours and includes a bike, helmet, guide, snacks, coffee or tea, and vehicle support.

“It was a remarkable downhill bike ride. There are multiple places to stop and take photos. Ivana, the guide, was a delight. While she is involved in mountain rescue, extreme sports like canyoneering, and more daunting tours like repelling, she was great with our small group which included an enjoyable German couple. Bring your smiles and have fun.”

Bike tour – Kotor Bay circle and visit Our Lady of the Rock

6.Bike tour – Kotor Bay circle and visit Our Lady of the Rock

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 5 reviews · 5 hours (approx.) · from $142

Ride around Kotor Bay with a guide such as Ivana, stopping at old churches, the Kamenari ferry, and Perast. Your bicycle, helmet, water, snacks, taxes, and a drink are included. The route takes about five hours, requires good fitness, and includes busy roads, hills, and an optional boat visit to Our Lady of the Rocks.

“We really enjoyed the tour, the places visited and our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. I did, however, find it difficult to get on and off a bike with a crossbar (normally for men) as I am not very tall and had to tilt the bike almost to the floor to mount and dismount. The roads can be very busy, which can be scary at times, but there are many places where you can use tracks at a lower level to avoid hills and the traffic too.”
